The slope on the right is the spectacular Upper Castle Grove, proposed for logging by TimerWest. The forested flats at left are the unprotected Lower Castle Grove. The clearcut in the foreground was logged by Fletcher Challenge over a decade ago.

On the unprotected slope, 4 more clearcuts are planned by TimerWest above the Lower Castle Grove. This will devestate the ecological integrity of the area.
