Nov. 23: NATIONAL DAY of ACTION against COASTAL OIL AND GAS DEVELOPMENT off BC's Coast

Posted October 17, 2005

The Wilderness Committee is organizing a National Day of Action for an Oil Free Pacific Coast aimed at encouraging the federal Liberal government to make the right decision and maintain the moratorium on offshore oil and gas development off the coast of BC. We need groups of people outside of federal Liberal offices across Canada giving out information on offshore oil and gas development, getting people to write letters to their federal Member of Parliament (MP), and gathering signatures on petitions. You don’t need to have a federal Liberal MP in your area to participate, any public location will do! The point is to speak with as many people as possible about how offshore oil and gas development will impact the BC coast.

If you want to get more information on how you can help with the National Day of Action, contact Jen Mckay at the office (250) 388-9292 or e-mail jen@wildernesscommitteevictoria.org
