Offshore drilling in B.C. not a priority for Federal Conservatives

The article below sounds good - but let's be careful, as slick politicians have a tendency to substitute the word "science" when they mean "seismic testing" and "oil exploration", as a precursor to drilling... Ken Wu, WCWC

CKNW(AM980) - The moratorium on off shore oil and gas drilling in B.C. is not a priority for the new Federal Conservative Government.

That's from Garry Lunn, MP for Saanich and the gulf islands and now the Minister for Natural Resources.

Lunn says his government has other matters to deal with first, but he'll be discussing the issue with the provincial government.

He adds he prefers a cautious approach, and wants scientific research to go ahead so an informed decision can be made.
